Frequently asked questions
What exactly is a "second-life" battery?
When an electric car gets written off by insurance after a road incident, or simply reaches the end of its road life, the battery pack inside is usually still in perfect condition. Because fixing EV bodywork and components are so expensive, insurers write off vehicles that have practically brand-new batteries. We take these heavy-duty batteries, test them rigorously, and repurpose them into stationary battery energy storage systems (BESS). It is just a practical way to get industrial-grade power for a fraction of the cost of new lithium.
